GOOD NEWS!

Bad news too often gets our attention and dominates our lives. We need good news!

Sadly, there is bad news that applies to all of us. We are all sinners, and our sins separate us from God. Whether we have sinned a lot or a little, all people have sinned and fall short of God. God knew about this problem and provided the only solution. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth, then He died willingly on a cross. God accepted Jesus' death as payment for our sin. Jesus then rose from the grave to prove His power over death. The Bible shows that we can respond to what Jesus did for us and be forgiven of our sins and have a relationship with God. Here's how you can have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ:

Admit to God that you are a sinner who is separated from God.

  • Romans 3:10 - As it is written: 'None is righteous, no, not one.'

  • Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Believe that Jesus died and rose again to pay your penalty for sin.

  • Romans 5:8 - But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  • John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Call on Jesus to save you (pray and ask).

  • Romans 10:9-10 - Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

  • Romans 10:13 - For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

If you are ready to take this step of faith, you can pray to God to ask for this salvation. There are no exact words to say. Instead, you can just talk to God out loud or quietly, but you must genuinely pray from your heart with repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ.
